Mission & Evangelism Teams
Mission Team

International Outreach
Our community of believers is faithfully connected to other believers around the world and through partnerships like these, we are able to extend our resources into the lives of people worlds away.

We recently spent time in central Mexico with a partnered church, putting a roof on their church, and spending a great deal of time with the children of the community.

Local Outreach
In every community, there are people in need.  John Wesley, the founder of Methodism, challenged believers to:

“Do all the good you can, by all the means you can, in all the ways you can, in all the places you can, in all the times you can, to all the people you can, as long as you can.”

At Bainbridge FUMC, we seek to fulfill this challenge in our community with our neighbors and all of those around us.  Come visit us to find out about what service opportunities are happening this week.

Food Bank

The Food Bank has received and been blessed by continued outpouring of love as evidenced by your generous giving. Each week we are giving out approximately 36 bags to needy families. Without your support this would not be possible. So, once again we say “THANK YOU”. We ask you to continue to pray for the Food Bank ministry, particularly those families who are in need of our service. Remember, you can help support the Food Bank by donations of money, food, and/or volunteering your time to work on Tuesdays from 9:00 – 10:00.

Prison Ministries

At Bainbridge First, the prison ministries program offers volunteer training which helps to make ministry in our local and state prisons more effective and safer.  This training includes some basic dos and don’ts and techniques for ministry.  This program is non-denominational and is open to anyone.

The program is centered around providing imprisoned individuals with resources (bibles and other literature) as well as putting together special Easter and Christmas programs led by local professionals.  Additionally, the program provides for the celebration of the Lord’s Supper inside the prisons.

The overarching theme of BFUMC’s Prison Ministries is “Because of Christ, we serve”.  It is led by Lorraine H. Rich the founder and leader of the program.  You may contact the church for her phone number.

Evangelism Team

The mission of the Evangelism Team of Bainbridge First United Methodist Church is to facilitate the delivery of the good news to as many people as possible by growing the local church membership in numbers and developing each member’s effectiveness in prayer, attendance, service, giving, and witnessing.
